Setting Goals

Let me ask you a serious question…

Are there 3 things you’d like to accomplish in your life right now that for one reason or another you haven’t been able to get done yet?

If you’re anything like I am, you can probably think of more than three things…shoot, I can think of at least a dozen things off the top of my head…without even trying very hard. What would your top 3 things be?

May I ask you another question I often ask myself, “Why do you think you haven’t been able to accomplish them yet?”

I know my excuses reasons…do you know yours?

IMAGINE

Imagine if we were able to eliminate all the reasons and excuses holding us back, how would your life change?

Would your life get better? What would that feel like?

Obviously, it would be amazing if I could get rid of all the reasons and excuses holding me back. I’m sure you feel the same way, don’t you?

MY 3 THINGS

What are my 3 things?

What would I like to accomplish in my life?

I’m glad you asked…

Several years ago, when I first considered this question, my #1 top priority was taking my family to Disney World in Orlando before my kids were grown and gone. As you know, a trip to Disney runs $10k+ to fly out and stay in the Grand Floridian resort for a week.

I’m happy to report that not only did I get my family to Disney World once, but have now been several times since making this goal my priority. In fact, we now have an annual pass and have been (3) different times this past year. I can tell you the first step to getting there happened when I decided I was going to take my family to Disney.

Getting clear about what you want will always be the first step towards achievement.

Second, and still in the works, I want to pay for my kids’ college education so they don’t have to take out massive loans like I did.

Finally, getting my retirement finances settled will be a huge accomplishment.

YOUR 3 THINGS

What are the 3 things you’d like to accomplish that you haven’t been able to get done yet?

What would it feel like for you if you could accomplish your own 3 things?

Why haven’t you been able to accomplish them yet?

Peace,
Mike

P.S. I would love to hear about your 3 things. After all, getting clear about what you want is the first step toward achievement.
